Accessibility Statement
Last reviewed: September 14, 2026
GeriHab Physical Therapy and Wellness is committed to making gerihabjackson.com usable by as many people as possible, including people who use a screen reader, navigate by keyboard alone, browse at high zoom, or have low vision, limited dexterity, or another disability. This matters to us for the same reason our clinics exist: a lot of the people we treat are the same people most likely to be shut out by a site that only half-works.
Conformance Target
We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines published by the W3C and the standard referenced in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Section 504 rule and in ADA Title III enforcement. WCAG is organized around four principles: content should be perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust. We measure this site against that standard, not just against what happens to work in one browser.
Measures We've Taken
Before this site launched, we ran a full accessibility pass against every page template, not just a sample. That included: a skip-to-content link and a proper page landmark structure on every page; a visible, high-contrast keyboard focus indicator on every interactive element; a keyboard-operable, focus-trapped mobile menu that closes on Escape; accordion and menu controls that announce their expanded/collapsed state to screen readers; a booking form that still works with JavaScript turned off, in addition to its normal step-by-step version; text and interface colors checked against WCAG's contrast requirements and corrected where they fell short; motion and auto-playing content that respects your operating system's "reduce motion" setting; and descriptive alt text on photos, including staff and treatment photography, rather than filenames or generic labels.
Accessibility isn't a one-time checkbox for us. We re-check this site whenever we add a new page or change a template, and we review it as a whole on a regular basis, not only when something breaks.
Known Limitations
We aren't aware of a website that is perfectly accessible to everyone, and we would rather tell you where ours currently falls short than claim otherwise:
- Google Reviews widget (homepage): the scrolling reviews panel on our homepage is powered by a third-party service (Elfsight) that we do not control the code of. We've reviewed it for basic keyboard and screen reader access, but we cannot guarantee it meets every WCAG success criterion the rest of this site does.
- Embedded Google Maps: the map on our appointment and location pages is Google's own embedded map. Its internal controls (zoom, pan, street view) are provided by Google, not by us.
- Embedded YouTube videos: a few of our patient-education articles include an embedded YouTube video. Caption availability and quality on those videos depends on YouTube and on the original video source rather than on this site; if a caption is missing or inaccurate on a specific video, let us know and we'll look at a fix or a written alternative for that page.
- Downloadable PDF forms: the new-patient intake packet and referral pad on our Paperwork page are PDF documents. If your screen reader has trouble with either file, call or email us (below) and we will get you the same information in another format.
