Insurance & Payment Options
Insurance is the reason a lot of people put off calling, and that is fair. Nobody wants to start treatment and then find out six weeks later what it actually costs. Most plans cover some or all of physical therapy, but the details change from plan to plan, so we call and verify your benefits before your first visit and tell you what we find. If you would rather not use insurance at all, paying directly is a straightforward option here.
Three steps, and they all happen before your first visit.
You call with your card
Call us at (731) 462-4315 with your insurance card in hand, or send your details through the appointment form on this page. It takes a couple of minutes, and you do not need a referral to get started.
We check your benefits
Our team contacts your plan and asks the questions that actually matter: is outpatient physical therapy covered, what is your copay or coinsurance, has your deductible been met, does the plan cap your visits, and does it want a referral on file.
You hear the numbers first
We come back to you with what your plan told us, before your first appointment rather than after it. If the coverage is thin or something needs authorization, you find out while you still have choices.
You can start physical therapy in Tennessee without a prescription.
Tennessee has direct access. A licensed physical therapist can evaluate and treat you for up to 90 days without a physician's prescription, so you are not waiting three weeks for a doctor's appointment just to get permission to be seen for the knee that is already keeping you off the stairs.
Here is the part that trips people up. Direct access is a state practice law, not an insurance rule. It decides who is allowed to treat you, not who pays for it. Some plans still want a referral or a physician's signature on file before they will cover the visits, and some want authorization first. That is precisely what we look for when we verify your benefits, and it is why that call happens before your first visit instead of after it.
When you come in, bring your insurance card, a photo ID, any imaging or doctor's notes you have, and a list of the medications you take. If your physician already gave you a referral, bring that too. Filling out the intake packet at home saves you a clipboard at the door.
No insurance, or you would rather not use it?
Plenty of people pay for their own care. A high deductible that will not be met this year, a visit cap that ran out in March, or simply not wanting a claim in the file. Ask when you call and we will quote you the rate for the evaluation and for follow-up visits before you book anything, so you are deciding with real numbers in front of you instead of guessing.
Not sure what your plan covers? Have your card handy and call us at (731) 462-4315 → We will check it for you. No appointment needed, and no obligation to book afterward.
